How long does a boiler last?
A cast-iron gas boiler that’s been looked after goes 20 to 30 years. Oil boilers can run longer but they burn money doing it. If it was in the house when you bought it and the house is from the ’60s or ’70s, it’s not “if,” it’s “when.” Get the estimate before the freeze, not after.

Yes. A boiler swap needs a permit and an inspection under the NJ Uniform Construction Code, and anybody telling you otherwise is saving himself paperwork, not saving you money. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and hand you the paperwork when it passes.
